The Daily Drabble Journey continues — short stories of exactly 100 words. Please stay on this page for at least 30 seconds, so we know you’ve been here. Also, I love hearing from readers so please feel free to highlight, clap, comment — let me know what you think. Many of us on this journey enjoy engaging with readers and writers. I am one of them. Thank you.

“I must climb out of bed or I’ll miss getting my dress from the dry cleaner,” Emily said, yawning. Andrew drew her back to him — presumably for a goodbye kiss.

One thing led to another. An hour had passed.
Emily was still in bed — now snoring.

Tonight was the night of their big party, where they’d finally announce their engagement.

Emily awoke and scrambled quickly to get to the dry cleaner. However, by the time she got there, they were closed. She realized she had confused her priorities and now had nothing gorgeous to wear for her very special night.

LESSONS:
1. Don’t procrastinate what should have been done yesterday.
2. Always identify your priorities — and act in alignment with them.
