An Act of Kindness
Random Word Drabble Challenge 146
The word of the day is act.
Benny was the kindest man in town. He could fix anything.
Broken toaster, leaky faucet, call Benny.
One day, Widow Winters came calling with a broken gnome that Benny’s cat Whiskers had knocked over while romping in her garden.
Benny quickly apologized and fixed the broken gnome.
While placing it back where it belonged, Whiskers attacked her pretty petunias.
“Whiskers, NO!” he hollered.
Widow Winters came out and gave Whiskers a nasty look.
Then she offered Benny a glass of lemonade and told him that sometimes an act of kindness doesn’t always go perfectly, but it’s the thought that counts.
I figure if the gnome looked like the one in the photo above, it’s no wonder Whiskers attacked it.
