Everlynn was intrigued. Her parched pores begged for hydration; her once-luminous face was now sallow and dull. If anybody needed this new product, it was Everlynn. She reminded herself of this as she placed a rush order.
Two hours later, a package arrived on Everlynn’s doorstep. She ripped open the envelope, ready to transform her complexion.
The tiny glass jar was not what Everlynn expected. Instead of a luxurious cream or silky serum, the jar contained nothing but a folded-up sheet of paper. What was this, the beauty world’s version of a fortune cookie?
Annoyed, she unfolded the paper. “True beauty comes from within,” the tiny font read.
Everlynn was angry, but she knew the message was true. “Fine, fine…I’ll call my therapist,” she sighed. It was time to heal.
