The random word is obsession, and our home is a model train layout in some guy’s basement.

Oh God! Must he blow that incessant whistle every Saturday morning? Just once, I’d like to sleep late. But no, he’s up early with his huge coffee steaming up my windows.

And then, he has to light that nasty cigar — assaulting my sinuses. I bet his wife doesn’t allow it in the house, which is understandable; it’s nauseating.

My town is his obsession.

I storm out to confront him, but the platform is empty. The cigar scent lingers, but the train’s whistle is silent, and the blinking lights are but a forlorn memory — like every Saturday since he passed away.
