RANDOM WORD DRABBLE | FICTION SHORTS #258
Be on Time
Or the job may not get done
Today’s Daily Word: LIAISON
This is Daily Drabble Journey — short stories of exactly 100 words. Please stay on this page for at least 30 seconds, and let us know you’ve been here with claps, comments, or highlights. I enjoy engaging with readers.
Wearing tight shoes was awful. Now, Daphne couldn’t believe the client was an hour late! She was furious as she sat on the steps kicking off her shoes.
She didn’t want this liaison job anyway; Daphne’s cousin had begged her to help one time. She was supposed to meet the guy in front of the courtroom steps to deliver a package and was asked to wear a white dress, white shoes and carry a pocket watch, so Lionel wouldn’t mistake her.
Ultimately when Lionel didn’t show up, Daphne stomped away, carrying shoes, watch, and cursing her cousin and the client.
LESSONS:
1. Go with your instincts; if you feel like something isn’t right, don’t do it.
2. Being on time demonstrates respect.
