A drabble is a work of fiction that is exactly 100 words, no more, no less.

I was doing life without parole for a murder I didn’t commit. My only choice was to escape.

But here I am — lost in the woods for seven days. Then, to make matters worse, a bear chased me up this pine tree.

I’ve been living on pinecones and pine needles. I feel like Euell Gibbons. Luckily, I had a tactical backpack water bottle… Now, even that was getting low.

All day, my stomach’s been rumbling with collywobbles and dysentery, AKA Montezuma’s revenge. Why doesn’t that bear just go away?

Then I heard it: helicopters. The bear saved me… from them.

Thanks to Nancy Oglesby and Fiction Shorts for the daily challenge.
