A Drabble is a work of fiction that is exactly 100 words. No more. No less.

The word of the day is ORBIT. Today’s drabble is a double drabble. The twist is the setting.

They’d been orbiting each other for weeks.

Her: Legs for days. Lips cherry red. Whip-smart. Devastating.

Him: Perpetually hungry. Hopeful.

Maybe he’d never do anything about it, maybe she’d reject him if he tried.

It was the dream of it that kept him coming back on the days he knew he’d have time to rest, to watch her for a bit, sitting just that bit taller in the 18-wheeler the obnoxiously wealthy paid him to drive from one warehouse to another — no questions asked.

He was good at not asking questions. Too good, perhaps.

(He didn’t even know her name!)

He imagined her a Gerri — mild-mannered and soft when she wanted to be, but a firecracker behind closed doors.
