Close Encounters
The random word today is ‘groove’ with a twist
A Drabble is a work of fiction that is exactly 100 words — no more. No Less.
Today’s Twist: Story must start with the sentence ‘The car was parked too close.’
If my story resonates with you, I’d love to hear your thoughts and relish your applause. I’d love to know you were here ☘️
The car was parked too close. WAY too close. Who parks such an expensive car next to a novice like me? Easy, Emily… steady!
A crash. I freeze.
Who even owns a car like that?
He emerges from the hotel. He’s handsome. He’s seen the groove.
“Hi! I… was just admiring your car.”
“Admiring it or personalizing it?” he laughs. “I’m Kiril. You’ve officially made my boring day interesting. Let’s have dinner?”
He shoves me over and jumps into my driver’s seat, screeching away just as a fat bald man thunders out to his Lamborghini.
‘My ex-boss’ Kiril explains.
A huge thanks to Nancy Oglesby and her wonderful team at Fiction Shorts for the daily challenge.
