Please read through these guidelines and the Fiction Shorts Style Guide. Both are critical to the sanity of the publication’s editors.

If you are unfamiliar with a Drabble, it is a self-contained fiction story of exactly 100 words. Most flash fiction is identified as stories under 1000 words. Many short-form publications require you to stay under 150 words. I decided to go with a Drabble because I need to learn how to say things more succinctly. (Grammarly agrees. LOL)

We know it’s only 100 words, but your story needs a plot, a who, what, when, where, and why. And, it helps the reader connect if your character has a name. You want your readers to care. This is the challenge. The reader needs to get it all in 100 words.

The random word and twist for the following day will be published at approximately 10 AM (CST) the day before, and published the following day.

We currently have a waiting list for writers. If you’d like to join comment here and you’ll be added to the waiting list.

Please clap, highlight, and comment on your fellow writers’ work. We’ve got a lot of new people who could use some love.
