A drabble is a work of fiction that is exactly 100 words. No more. No less.

Today is Twisted October Drabble Challenge #282. The random drabble word is linger, and you must also include a bingo hall in your story.

LeAnne navigated through a thick cloud of cigarette smoke, searching for an empty chair. The bingo hall was packed tonight.

“That’s Rosetta’s spot,” a wiry-haired woman scowled, shoving LeAnne’s Bingo sheets on the floor.

“Hateful hag,” LeAnne muttered, picking up the papers. “No wonder your husband left.”

“You!” the woman screamed angrily, chucking a green dauber at LeAnne’s head. “I knew I recognized you. Get your homewrecking butt outta here!”

“Absolutely not, Stella,” LeAnne replied, laughing. She planned to linger at the VFW until everyone left. Having an accomplice nearby made Stella uncomfortable; she hated lying. LeAnne enjoyed it.
