Today’s Daily Word: GROTESQUE
This is Daily Drabble Journey — short stories of exactly 100 words. Please stay on this page for at least 30 seconds, and let us know you’ve been here with claps, comments, or highlights. I enjoy engaging with readers.
Layla and Mila were twins. One of their favorite activities was feeding ducks at the local pond and scampering away to see if ducks would follow them.
One day, they stopped by the pond, tossed in a few pieces of their pocketed vegetables from last night’s dinner — peas and corn — which they learned were good food for ducks.
The girls didn’t notice that a gaggle of geese had been splashing around with their feathered duck friends today.
Suddenly, in addition to quacking ducks, they heard grotesque, annoying honking sounds coming from the geese.
Layla and Mila fled the scene — laughing.
LESSONS:
1. Important values can be learned from ducks and geese: resilience, flexibility, acceptance, cooperation and encouragement.
2. Communication is important — no matter the style.
