Uncovering my family’s picture was a shock.
All my life, they shared stories of their posh wedding — elegant attire, women dripping in gemstones, men in stunning top hats. I was told we came from true aristocracy on both sides.
So imagine, when I went into the attic, finding the trunk that held so many secrets my parents had buried. I wondered if they ever intended to tell me the truth. They knew I hated the rickety steps to the attic.
Now they were gone. I went upstairs to clear out the space.
Suddenly, confusing and disturbing family secrets were unfurled.
LESSONS:
1. If you want to bury secrets, don’t keep the evidence.
2. Better to practice honesty — the truth…
