Today’s word is enough.

A Drabble is a short fiction story of exactly 100 words. No more. No less.

Stella had to write a report for school about Jefferson Davis, the Former President of the Confederate States of America.

The American History teacher, Mr. Long, filled a hat with names of important figures from the past and the students each picked one. Then he wrote down who they chose.

She wished they could have traded names after drawing, but Mr. Long said no trading was allowed.

The blank page stared her in the face. What could she ever say about this man that would matter?

She thought, then wrote the word dead.

Ok, that’s enough for now, she thought.

I enjoyed reading this story by Karen Hoffman.
