Today’s drabble challenge word is “coffer”.

Today’s drabble challenge twist is that it is a “drabble and a half”.

A drabble is a work of fiction that is exactly 100 words. No more. No less.

If you enjoyed this, let me know by highlighting, clapping, and commenting!

Bert is the bane of Reg’s life.

“He’s like a fart,” Reg guffaws around the office. “Silent but deadly with all his annoying forms and Kay Pee Eyes!!!”

He pays no mind that Bert sits just one cubicle partition away, analyzing Reg’s lackluster sales reports.

“Sales is about handshakes and a friendly beer,” roars Reg to anyone within earshot. “It’s about charisma! Relationships! And expense accounts! …Not targets and compliance.”

So he chomps and slurps greedily every day on the company tab.

“Without me, this place is nothing! I bring in the clients!” he justifies.

But Bert is the one toiling away to keep the coffers full, grinding his teeth to dust while plugging the holes Reg creates.

Because Reg is the bane of Bert’s life, too.
