The word of the day is SEIZE. The twist is a cup of coffee. Today’s drabble is a drabble and a half.

Exhausted, she clicked the lock to the bathroom stall firmly in place and exhaled mightily. She’d be seizing the day in just a moment, but she needed a minute to reset.

Everything that could go wrong already had, since the cat had used his powers for evil instead of good and helped himself to the snooze button on her trusty alarm clock.

She’d foregone the shower and run out the door at breakneck pace, only for the tram to be delayed, rush-hour commuters spilling from the doors. Then she’d walked into a dumpster-fire morning, pulled helplessly into her colleagues’ stress vortex.

She leaned against the wall, inhaling the aroma of the coffee she’d finally had a chance to brew — hours after it was appropriate — the mug’s ceramic warmth offering unwavering comfort.

The door shook threateningly on its hinges.
