Day fifty-six in his mom’s basement. Justin looked around the dimly lit room. Four boxes of random belongings were all that survived the fire. It was time to get his act together, yet he lacked motivation.

Text from Hailey, he hadn’t been in contact with her in ten years.

“Justin! It’s Hailey. On my way home for a visit. I heard what happened. I’m taking you out for a day of fun.”

Hailey… they have been friends since the fourth grade. He always wanted to be more. Suddenly Justin felt the urge to shave and turn off the TV.
