This is the last sentence I am writing, and I’m going to stop mid-sent.

Those were the words found on the computer screen in Debola’s room in Yaba. The cursor blinked as though nudging him to continue. Beside the brand-new laptop was a cup of coffee, brimming with dark contents. A few dead flies floated on the surface.

What puzzled his friends and family was his passports and bags were packed as though he was prepared for a trip.

All they knew was that he had settled with the government after whistleblowing about the corruption at the statehouse.
