A drabble is a fiction story of exactly 100 words, so is very short by design. If you feel so inclined, please clap or leave a comment. It’s always appreciated.

“Me and the girls are going large in Ibiza.”

Mel cringed. “Mum, you’re too old to say things like ‘going large’!”

“Your generation doesn’t own words, you know.”

“Anyway, what do you mean, you’re going large?”

“You know, clubbing, booze cruises, body shots…”

Urgh mum, stop, you’re just embarrassing!”

Every generation thinks they invented fun, but one day Mel would understand that you don’t have to hang up your dancing shoes when you turn 30.

“Fine, I won’t make you look at the photos. But if I can't have a wild girls’ trip for my 80th birthday, when can I?”

The Drabble Challenge is published daily in Fiction Shorts.
