Jenny held Grandma’s hand as she drifted off to sleep. Accepting that Grandma’s time was limited, everyone wondered if this was the last time they’d see her vibrant blue eyes.

Lab and vitals were telling an undeniable story about the inevitable future. Family members feared this outcome when Grandma first fell; but she had rallied for four days.

Yesterday, Grandma called for her family to be with her, telling them repeatedly that she was ready to go and didn’t want to be alone. Grandma knew she couldn’t control when she died, but she had always controlled the way she lived.

LESSONS:
1. We can’t control when we die. But we can control how we live.
2. Live life fully.
