The Daily Drabble Journey continues — short stories of exactly 100 words. Please stay on this page for at least 30 seconds, so we know you’ve been here. Also, I love hearing from readers so please feel free to highlight, clap, comment — let me know what you think. Many of us on this journey enjoy engaging with readers and writers. I am one of them. Thank you.

Cynthia yelled to Marsha “Is that Greg or his Doppelgänger?”
Twenty years later, Cynthia’s memory was still filled with Greg.

Meanwhile, Marsha was fixated on the percussionist on stage; he looked familiar but she couldn’t place him. And she couldn’t hear Cynthia over the loud music.

Cynthia retrieved her harmonica. She used the instrument to get people’s attention, a habit she’d had since college. As she pulled it from her pocket, she recalled that Greg had given her this harmonica — at Cynthia’s graduation party.

Marsha didn’t have to hear it; as soon as she saw the harmonica, she remembered everything.
