Drabble #300: Shortcomings
Today’s random word is shortcomings; the twist is to scare Nancy, the publication’s creator. Did I mention she doesn’t scare easily?
Because drabbles are short, please consider staying on this page for at least 30 seconds. I’d love to know you were here. 💕
He is a three-legged dog. The shelter said he’s gentle, but ask our cat — she’ll set you straight. Once Jake arrived home, we noticed his many shortcomings.
Rumour has it that Jake gnawed on his leg when he turned one — he tore the whole thing off, so he’s primarily muzzled unless he’s eating. I hear fingers make great appetizers.
Jake will meet his maker tomorrow at the vet; however, tonight, he’s howling at the full moon, willing his ghostly ancestors to haunt us — evil spirits you don’t want to mess with.
Wait!
Help!
Jake! Let go of my leg.
