Her Last 100 Words
RWDrabble 2.0.099 — Ne’er-do-well
Today’s Twist: The random word is ‘Ne’er-do-well’ and the story must be set at a campfire and contain 100 words, no more, no less!
Tomorrow, we begin a new chapter — double Drabbles, 200 words strong. The rules may change, but the fire still burns.
We’ve lit the fire, Drabblers! More words, same magic ☘️
By the campfire sat a band of Drabblers.
“We write 100 words,” Nancy said. “We’re misfits. Ne’er-do-wells. Rebels with word counts.”
Logs crackled.
“Turns out, Medium gods don’t see us. So, tomorrow, it’s double or nothing. 200 words a day.”
Then, soft guitar chords.
How many words must a man write down
Before he calls it a day?
How many twists must a tale contain
Before it’s allowed to stay?
How many times must the goalposts shift
Before we just drift away?
The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind.
The answer is blowin’ in the wind.
