Her Teacher Reminded Her Of a Weapon

Today’s random word is: against

Yen was shy. She’d only been in Australia three months, and two days in school. She had learned some English from her Australian family who had befriended her family.

But the classroom was nothing but a buzz of noise. She just wanted to escape to the safety of her home.

Already she knew her teacher was against her, didn’t want to be patient, or to be kind.

Yen likened her to the weapons she’d seen in the refugee camp.

That made her even more afraid, but then she heard…

“Please don’t worry too much Yen. I will help you learn.”
