A drabble is a work of fiction that is exactly 100 words, no more, no less.

We’re monitoring the retransmission radio on Hill 1000 in Wonju, Korea. FM radio’s planning radius is only 17 miles, so these sites are necessary to provide communications for all within the Forward Edge of the Battlefield Area (FEBA).

I cringe to hear the incoming helicopter. Its thunderous sounds filled the air and shook the tent. The kerosene stove barely warmed it, but we were loath to leave the warmth to brave the biting winds.

I’d been suffering from dysentery, and as I ran to the helicopter, my bowels let loose. Although it is warm now, there are no showers here.
