Madge and Mark sat beside each other at the bistro, each at a loss for words. After thirty-five years of strained marriage, it was time to face their issues.
“Mark, the problem is that you’re boring,” Madge began. “Remember how you used to make me laugh?”
Mark spat out a chunk of fat from his chicken sandwich before adding salt to season the breast.
“You want to talk about bland?” Mark countered. “You’re as exciting as this cold poultry lunch. You make me feel henpecked.”
“Mark, you’re a dick!” Madge cried. “You should have ordered the Coq au Vin.”
