Today’s drabble challenge word is “tempt”.

Today’s drabble challenge twist is to end the story with “the moonlight dances on the water”.

Drabbles are short — only and exactly 100 words.

Whether you are delighted or dismayed by what you read, let me know you’ve been here by highlighting, clapping, and commenting! Thank you!

After many years together, Ash and Dylan fall nightly into companionate sleep, no longer capable of expressing waves of unspoken wishes.

Dylan jolts awake one night to find the bed empty. Faint music plays. Hard silver light streams through the porthole.

Rising, Dylan pauses at the sight of Ash dancing naked up on deck.

Following through the hatch into the bright night air, shimmering water tempts with its sparkles.

In supernatural silence, they leap with abandon into the sea’s phosphorescence, and long-forgotten passion reawakens.

Together again, their appendages create intertwined neon patterns while the moonlight dances on the water.

Thank you for reading my drabble.
