I Wanted More — She Wanted Less
A case where size mattered
Today’s random word is entire.
Telling a story in only 100 words takes imagination. The 100-word Drabble can be fun to write and entertaining to read. I hope you enjoy this 100-word entry.
I wanted it all… the entire shelf filled with books by my favorite author J. Salvatore Domino. She only offered me four inches.
With a booming voice, I challenged her proposition. “Four inches? That’s barely enough for two novellas. I have an entire collection of novels and short stories.”
“Keep your voice down, this is a library. Your tone is entirely inappropriate.”
I looked around. We were the only two people in the entire room.
“I want my books to be seen by the entire world,” I whispered. “They need more space.”
The librarian smiled. “No,” she whispered. “Four inches.”
