The drabble word ‘conference’

A drabble is a short story of exactly 100 words featuring one.

Today’s is ‘conference’

Sitting around the conference table with a bunch of young pups.

He’d been with the company longer than all of them put together.

And yet, they didn’t listen to a word he said.

They silently ignored him.

They had their own solutions to the company’s problems.

His didn’t seem to matter.

“I’ll show’em,” he thought vindictively.

He farted — a silent stinker.

He waited for the exhaust to spread.

Resembling mustard gas in the Great War, it spread its toxicity.

Soon everyone was adversely affected.

The young people accused each other.

No one blamed him.

It was like he didn’t exist.

I hope you read my Drabble with the mindset of an individual feeling his age among his much younger fellow executives.
