In the Autumn Of Your Life … Imagine!
Random word: 2.O.42 : legitimate
Today’s drabble is a drabble and a half, so 150 words!
“Hey, give us another song, Dolly!” the village people would call, and Dolly would deliver her country songs, a free concert for her kin.
Growing up dirt poor, with no running water and eleven legitimate siblings, little Dolly never doubted she was loved.
She could sing; she was beautiful and perfect for the stage, but inside, she was a storyteller with a heart of gold.
She was always asking herself how she could give back.
Dolly rightfully concluded that it was improving the education of her Tennessee people and the world’s disadvantaged.
Reading was a right for everyone.
And so she inspired “Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library”.
“What do you think? she asked, “Every month, poor children will get free books delivered to their homes. Why didn’t I think of it before?”
I hear there are some fabulous lawyers, scientists, actors, and teachers whose love of literature was inspired by Dolly!
