Albert’s manner was one of endless curiosity.

“The future belongs to we the curious! Nothing ventured, nothing gained,” he’d say. “Those who are unafraid, are the ones who poke and prod and turn things inside out.”

With that, he tipped back the potion he’d found in Wonderland. If Alice had survived to tell her amazing tale, why not him?

But something strange was happening. Now …

  • he was a sight for sore eyes
  • his heart was on his sleeve
  • his position was head over heels
  • his lips were sealed

“Albert! What on earth have you done to yourself?”

“Oh, Alice!”

If you’re not already on board with writing drabbles, (short, 100-word stories, no more, no less,) do yourself a favour. Get stuck in! They are a lot of fun to write, but also serve as a lesson in tight writing, given the 100-word constraint.
