“What? Ask Gammy. I’m busy.”
“Was I born in an elliptical egg?”
“Keep asking, and you’ll go back in one! What’s all this ellipppi…?”
“Elliptical, Granddad. You know, oval?”
“Listen, clever shit, you just started school. You know nothing.”
“That’s why I’m asking you, Granddad. You know everything.”
“Well, yes. I’m busy right now. Gammy’s in the garden, go ask her.”
“Gammy, Granddad said I should ask you why eggs are elliptical?”
“That’s a good question, Camden. Do you remember yesterday, I gave you some Maltesers?”
“They were scrummy, Gammy, and I never told Granddad that you gave me them.”
“It’s our secret. Do you remember what happened?”
“I dropped them. I think I lost three of them under the settee.”
