Drabble Word Prompt 87: Central

Vince got off the bus where the driver told him was the central station and stood waiting. When it’s almost fifteen minutes, he tries to call Matt, but his phone’s battery is dead.

He must be at the wrong place, he thought. The message said, “Meet me at the Central.” He asks a nearby food vendor, “Please where’s the central?” “There it is.” She points to a building across the street, with a bold sign that reads, Central.

At the door, he meets Matt walking out, “I’m sorry man, but the job has been taken. I’ve been waiting for you.”
