Tony poured his coffee and watched his daughter, pale as a ghost, toying with her breakfast.

“So, this kid, Arthur — he thinks he can sample the goods and just skip the bill?”

“Daddy, it was just a kiss… ” Meadow felt bad lying to her father.

“Just a kiss? Kid’s got moxie. I say we teach him there’s no free lunches.”

Meadow felt a wave of morning sickness. Arthur wasn’t just a kid. He was two years shy of her Dad’s age and from a rival family.

“Whatever we do, it stays here in this house. We’re not airing our dirty laundry for the entire neighborhood.”

“Can’t we just let it go? It was only a… ”

Another intense wave of nausea hit.
