The random word of the day is nothing.

Gramps sat on the edge of the front porch, intensely poking his cane into the ground.

Thinking he must have dropped something valuable, I inquired, “What are you looking for, Gramps?”

Hunching shoulders and frowning brow, he stated loudly, “Nothing!”

He had lost the chain from his watch again; I just knew it. With eagle eyes scanning the yard I spotted a stick of dynamite lying beside his wheelbarrow. Holding up the explosive, I sternly asked him. Knowing Gramps lied incessantly. “What is this?”

Nothing!” he stated loudly as he snachted the stick from my hand. “Not a damned thang!”
