A Drabble is a work of fiction that is exactly 100 words. No more. No less.

The words of the day are GIANT, INTERLUDE, BORDER. Today’s drabble is a double drabble. The twist is that you must use all 3 words.

Her headache was gargantuan, but wishing wasn’t going to make the giant line of cars move any faster.

She should have gotten a coffee on her way out of the city, but she’d been flustered by the intermingled legs strewn across the hotel bed, the lingering scent of decisions that had felt right in the decadence of moonlight, the person she’d allowed herself to be under the cover of exhilarated darkness.

Spending the night on the Mexican side of the border had been a decision — one she’d made through squinted eyes and a belly full of tequila — but it wouldn’t be fair to call what she was feeling regret.

It had been a necessary interlude after the week she’d had. A moment of hope, like a break in the clouds.

But now, inching toward the checkpoint, she knew this kind of decision-making wasn’t…
