When I was a little girl I was tough as nails,
a tomboy,
rough and tumble.

too thin,
pasty complexion,
deep black circles under my eyes.

He attacks the soft places… makes no bruises,
fingers probe deep,
twisting nerve endings,
wrenching muscle fibers.

all
night
long,
never allowing me to sit… rest.
