Today’s random word is: gallon

Randy didn’t know what he could do.

It seemed that every other month, he was paying more and more for a gallon of petrol.

He tried reducing the amount of gallons he bought, but that literally didn’t get him anywhere!

And he was sick of the thieving mongrels who sneaked around in the dead of night, siphoning other people’s fuel.

But then, a glimmer of hope. He learned that they would soon be making fuel out of horse shit. He wondered, would it smell like horse shit?

One thing was certain. It would probably put an end to indiscriminate siphoning.

If you’re not already on board with writing drabbles, (short, 100-word stories, no more, no less,) do yourself a favour. Get stuck in! They are a lot of fun to write, but also serve as a lesson in tight writing, given the 100-word constraint.

Here too, is the link to Nancy Oglesby’s Fiction Shorts where you may join and write your own drabbles.
