Pa taught all his kids to be helpful and respectful of nature and humanity.
Yesterday, meandering through a familiar trail, Joey noticed a tree limb had fallen. Resting across a well-trodden path, it will be a nuisance for other hikers, Joey thought.
He assumed the large limb would be pliable enough to push aside, if not completely carry off the path. But when Joey bent to drag it, something snapped and he blacked out.
Later, embarrassed by his poor judgment call, Joey knew what Pa would have said if he’d seen this unfold: “What the hell were you thinking?”
LESSONS:

2. Know your own strength, and lean into others for help when needed.
