Today’s word is electric.

The electric motor on the RV step stopped working and would not extend. It was quite a huge step down to the ground.

Rich had tried to fix it so his wife wouldn’t have to step down so far but it was burned up and the new electric motor was more than he could afford at the moment.

He hadn’t told his wife yet that the step was broken when she opened the door and fell on the ground flat on her face.

She screamed as something snapped and they both immediately knew the vacation had come to an end.

Yes, the step motor is broken, but no I did not fall out the door. A new step from Amazon is only $35. Locally, the cheapest price we found was $160. It doesn’t look like the step will get fixed today. Hopefully, I won’t forget it is broken and fall out the door. That would be bad.

A drabble is a 100-word fiction story. We are writing stories based on a random word that editor Nancy gives us. We are having a lot of fun coming up with stories and enhancing our fiction writing skills. If you haven’t joined us yet you should check it out.
