Today’s drabble challenge word is accountant.

Today’s drabble challenge twist is to end the drabble with: and that was the last thing I remember.

Drabbles are short — only (and exactly) 100 words. Take half a minute or so to read, highlight, clap, and comment so I know you’ve been here! Thank you!

When Tessa strutted into the hotel bar in her long leather boots, I was hooked. Over cocktails, I impressed her with some white lies to make myself more interesting.

Dinner was quick.

“I have a big meeting in the morning,” she explained.

“So do I,” I said. “Boring, though, not big. Some goody-goody tax accountant wants me to justify my creative business write-offs.”

She laughed and I reached for her hand.

Turns out her big meeting was my boring one.

They introduced the tax auditor in her long leather boots and that was the last thing I remember.

(And yes, Tessa’s name backwards, is Asset… Make of that what you will.)

Thank you for reading my drabble. Feel like creating your own? Come and join in.
