A Drabble is a work of fiction that is exactly 100 words.

Oliver loved casinos. He loved the sound of the machines and the smell of cigarettes mingled with booze. Hell, even those ugly, flashy carpets.

He stopped in daily, spending a few dollars here and there, playing Megabucks and Wheel of Fortune. He never won, and his “few dollars here and there” added up.

His wife’s disapproval was obvious. She shook her head, sighing when he came home smelling of cigarette smoke.

When she finally kicked him out, he slept in his car. He woke up cold, tangled up so tightly in his blanket that he couldn’t move his left arm.

Today’s challenge:

I loved this Drabble by . I can’t even imagine the devastation in Southern California right now.
