A Drabble is a short fiction story of exactly 100 words. Fiction is fake. It’s made up. And it’s not as easy as it looks.

Mrs. Stoller’s First Grade Class students had been taking care of a pet Bunny. His name was Oreo. They named him Oreo because he was brown on both ends and white in the middle.

One day they came to school and he was gone. His cage door was open. They looked and looked for him. They looked behind the bookshelf and under all the desks.

Mrs. King from the second-grade classroom walked in holding Oreo the bunny. The students were glad to see him. Mrs. Stoller said, “I guess he is ready to move on to the second grade.”

I based this story on one of my children’s books that I wrote many years ago titled, “Oreo, the First Grade Bunny*.”

If you would like a bit of a fright, I recommend you read the following story written by Nancy S Rust.
