She saw the shadow of an axe on the wall, and it scared her. Rekha was alone, awaiting the arrival of her first child. The eerie shadow was just a trick of the light, but it made her feel more isolated, with her husband, Lieutenant Arun, stationed at military base.

Arun visited the telegraph office daily, awaiting good news. One day, while he was busy in combat, Rekha delivered a baby boy.

When Arun returned, he rushed to the telegraph office. The clerk greeted him, “Congratulations, Lieutenant! It’s a boy.”

He thanked the clerk and raced home, his heart lighter.

The telegraph office just became a symbol of hope for Arun, where love transcended love and duty.
