The story is based on the person living in the apartment indicated in the image provided below.

It only occurred to the residents afterwards that they hadn’t seen Brian in a while.

An avid walker, he was usually up at dawn before the city came alive. That was his love, to walk around his beloved city with his corgi, endeavouring to take mental notes of everyone’s daily habits.

It wasn’t that he was nosy, just curious.

He liked those whose habits matched his, orderly and predictable.

It was the strong odour that alerted the neighbours, and subsequently, the police.

Brian’s corgi had tried scratching his face to wake him, eventually succumbing too, to a somewhat inglorious death.
