Every recess, Ben was bullied by Sam and his friends.
“Yellow,” they sneered, mocking his reluctance to fight back. Ben endured their taunts, knowing his parents forbade fighting.
Instead, Ben wrote down the details of every encounter in a journal. With the help of a supportive teacher, he gave his journal to the school principal.
The bullies were called in with their parents. The boys were suspended. Ben’s actions taught them a lesson and won him respect from his classmates. He showed them that courage doesn’t always mean fighting.
“The pen is mightier than the sword,” he told his friends.
