This drabble is a 100-word fictional response to the Random Drabble 220 challenge. It must feature the random word of the day, which is aptly. To add a twist, the story must include the phrase, “Thursday is the only day.”

Baron Basilsprig’s eyes sparkled as he departed Grosvenor Square. Passing Spencer House, he pulled a mandarin from a pocket.

He halted in St. James’s Park. Leaning over, orange segments in hand, geese waddled forward.

Viscountess Vassalthwack sauntered in. Like those in the nearby lake, a heron aptly adorned her jacket.

“Your coiffure evokes images of bearskins,” blurted Basilsprig.

“The hairstyle’s in vogue,” she touted. “Love, let’s also rendezvous on Tuesdays.”

“My wife plays with her muscular tennis coach in our garden on Thursdays. Thursday is the only day,” Basilsprig retorted.

“But Winston, your estate lacks a tennis court,” she murmured.
