Annette used to believe haemorrhoids only happened to other people. Yet today, deep red grapes dangle from her brown eye. Horrified, she has her kids to thank for that.
If she’d known about the rest of the shortcomings of growing older, she would have run for the hills. But she can’t — because her bladder leaks all over the place. She also has her kids to thank for that.
So robust in her youth, Annette’s now terrified of a future filled with requests for a wipe, a twist, a lift, or a carry… And not from the kids — but to them.
