Twist: A drabble and a half

People who have seen the monster’s appearance in our town say its eyes are as dark as the midnight ocean.

Some swear the monster has the shape of a man. Others say it looks like an overgrown black cat. Whatever you think it looks like, everyone agrees that you can hear people’s desperate screams at night as they attempt to escape the creature’s thunderbolt eyes.

Although Tomas might be the town’s joker, he has a legitimate claim that he saw the creature, which he backs up with a photo.

It was taken on a misty night. He flaunted the photo around at the bar like a famous star. People gasped in astonishment.

They debated for hours the creature’s origin and supernatural powers.

I smiled when I saw the unfocused photo because I realized he’d taken a photo of me in the harbor area while I was shooting a TikTok video.
