A Drabble is a story told in exactly 100 words.

Yesterday’s random word prompt was rapid and the story must start with I’m not going to the reading of the will…

“I’m not going to the reading of the will today and don’t ever call me again,” Claire said, as she turned off her phone and tried to slow her rapid heartbeat before takeoff.

It was almost over and by the time they read the will and opened the safe deposit box, she’d be flying over the Atlantic with five perfect diamonds.

Claire closed her eyes; going over it again… giving him two drops a day, painful symptoms escalating, specialists and ambulances, weeks of life support and then… blessed silence…

Claire dozes until she feels the cold metal click of handcuffs.

Thanks for reading my story! Please stick around for at least 30 seconds so my story gets counted as read. Feel free to clap, highlight or comment if anything catches your fancy!
