A Drabble is a work of fiction exactly 100 words long.

I’m continuing my journey back through the random words before I started the challenge. Day 73— March 13— was “CARRY.”

“You’re welcome,” said Ed, “for carrying the team tonight.”

“Carrying?” said Kelly. “You answered a couple extra sports questions.”

“All I know is, we wouldn’t have won free beers if not for me. Who’s getting mine?”

Silence.

“Fine — I’ll do everything tonight.”

Returning, Ed set down his beer and snatched a chicken wing from his plate, hoisting it like a Renaissance king with a turkey leg. “To me!” He cleaned the bone of meat. Then gasped. “Not mild!” He chugged half his beer.

Kelly said, “If you were so smart, you’d know not to leave us alone with your food.”

Thanks for sparing a minute to read my story. Or, if not a minute, maybe thirty seconds, so the Medium algorithm counts it as a read? Feel free to take a few extra seconds to determine which part you liked least. Insult me in the comments. I’ll take being despised over being ignored 😎.
